What is VITA

VITA stands for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, and is sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service. VITA provides tax assistance to help low income and elderly taxpayers meet their Federal and State Income tax responsibilities.  VITA depends on volunteers like yourself--who will be trained as an Income Tax facilitator.  This Bay Area VITA program is run by longtime volunteer and IRS tax expert  Xavier Guerrero.

Become a Volunteer

Volunteer Tax assistors are the cornerstone of this National program, and with the year after year collaboration by the Internal Revenue Service, EarnItKeepIt$aveIt,  and the
United Way,  scores of volunteer tax assistors are trained and placed in community partnership locations to prepare these no cost tax returns, and provide free tax advice and assistance with simple tax matters for individuals that English is their second language or clear up any misunderstanding of the tax law...more
